Banishing Negarivity

The first step to becoming a more positive person is to develop an awareness of your negative thinking patterns. Once you are aware of your tendency to be negative, you can better act on it. To become more positive you will start by banishing negative thinking. Here are The keys to banishing negativity:

The apostle Paul tells believers what to think about: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Besides defining what thoughts should fill our minds, this text implicitly teaches that we can control what we think about. When a negative thought comes, the thinker who has the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16) has the ability to push it out of the mind and replace it with godly thoughts. This takes practice, but with persistence, it gets easier. Christians must think about what they’re thinking about and not allow their minds to have free rein. In our spiritual warfare, we’ve been given the helmet of salvation—spiritual armour for the mind.

As long as Christians live in a fearful, stressful world, negative thoughts will come. We have the option of either stamping out those thoughts or nurturing them. The good news is, negative thoughts can be replaced with positive ones, and the more that godly substitution takes place, the more peace and joy we can experience. Learn more in our 21 day positive thinking devotional.

DAY 12- WE ARE UNIQLY LOVED

Today we are challenging the thoughts that say, “My life is not that special.”

Though hard to admit, this mentality is often under the surface of our lives. It’s a mindset that hems us into a mediocre and boring existence.

Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, I knew you and destined you…”

REMEMBER THIS:  God is saying about you! Genesis 16:13 says, “You are the God who sees me!”

Remember Zacchaeus climbing up a tree to see Jesus? In Luke 19:5, “Jesus looked up and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, come down. I must stay at your house today.’” He wants to come to YOUR house today.

YOU ARE THAT IMPORTANT TO HIM. Whoever touches you is touching the apple of God’s eye. You are God’s greatest desire. You bring Him great joy!

SAY THIS OUT LOUD: I have a destiny. I am chosen by God. I cannot go unnoticed by Jesus. He sees me, and recognises me, and calls me His own. He is coming over to my house because He loves me and considers me significant. I reject all feelings of insignificance and unimportance. I am the apple of His eye, in Jesus’ Name!

Disconnect from the past definition of your habits, traits, and limitations. You are being changed into His image. Don’t worry if it doesn’t happen right away. Jesus touched the blind man once, in Mark 8, and then touched him a second time, before he was completely healed. I believe these next 21 days are going to be your SECOND touch from Jesus.
